Considerations to ensure curriculum delivery

It is vital that we understand the specific needs of a child with a visual impairment in order to make the relevant provision.

This provision would include:

  • Advance Planning
  • Modification of materials and provision of additional resources
  • Classroom environment adapted for pupils needs
  • Provision and teaching of use of technology and other resources
  • Supporting the development of self help and independence skills
  • Ensuring that pupils have appropriate social skills for positive interactions with peer group and adults
