Developing Your Own Thinking
Just as a teacher should never walk into a classroom without planning what they are going to teach, nobody who works with children should go to work without planning how they intend to manage behaviour. They can plan modifications to the physical environment. They can plan mood changers. They can plan scripts. They can also plan a range of incentives and sanctions.
In the previous section we looked at the way people waste time thinking about the things they cannot do anything about. We have also seen that thinking, feeling and behaviour all interact. By choosing to change the way they behave, staff can alter the way they think and feel. They can also affect the way the people around them feel, think and behave.
