Some parents demand an inordinate (unreasonable) amount of your time to discuss their child.
When you realise that you are dealing with such a parent, set some limits:
Listen actively to the complaints and worries, and then negotiate an action plan to address the main issues within YOUR remit, including review arrangements
Clarify (revisit) your remit and set appropriate limits
Identify a time each week (e.g. 3.00 till 5.00 Thursday afternoons) when you are available to parents
Follow the good practice described earlier for meetings
