Main objectives
The purpose of this online course is to:
- to raise awareness of the needs of parents of children with SEN, the issues they face and how they can be supported
- to consider how we communicate with and provide information to parents in a number of contexts
By the end of the course you will
be better able to empathise with parents of children with SEN - have increased your understanding of the impact on parents of a child’s diagnosis of SEN
- have increased your understanding of the barriers to good communication
- have knowledge of sources of information, advice and support for parents and settings
- have considered the need to provide information to parents
- have a checklist for the provision of information
